Portland Healing House

Trans-affirmingLast updated Jun 2026

About

Portland Healing House is a trans-led 501(c)(3) that coordinates acute postoperative recovery support for trans people during the 1–4 weeks after gender-affirming surgery. As a Community Network Coordinator, it connects people with lodging near hospitals, daytime and overnight caregiving, transportation, postop recovery supplies, peer support, and mental health and wellness support. Built on housing justice, economic justice, and health equity, services are offered on a sliding scale starting at zero cost. The program is in its 2026 pilot/funding stage and is currently offering a select range of recovery care while it expands — contact them to discuss your postop care needs.

Eligibility

Trans people recovering from gender-affirming surgery, especially those who travel for surgery, lack a safe place to recover, or face housing instability.
