About

Dignity Village is a self-governed community of about 60 people living in small private houses, with shared showers, toilets and a kitchen. You join the waitlist in person at the weekly intake meeting, and there is nearly always a wait for a house. Residents do village work each week and pay a monthly fee. In past winters the village has also opened short stays in its greenhouse shelter.

Eligibility

Adults 18+ who are homeless. Proof of COVID vaccination is required. Residents do 10 hours of village work a week, pay a monthly fee, and follow village rules, including no public intoxication. Pets are allowed if spayed or neutered and vaccinated, one dog per house. Couples can share a house.
