About

The Dru Project is a national nonprofit founded in memory of Drew Leinonen, killed in the 2016 Pulse Nightclub shooting. It awards college scholarships to LGBTQ+ youth, funds gay-straight alliance grants, and publishes a widely used GSA startup guide, having distributed over $250,000 to date with priority for LGBTQ+ youth from anti-equality states. 2026 scholarship cycle open March 20-June 20.
