The Salvation Army Female Emergency Shelter (SAFES) provides emergency shelter beds in downtown Portland for guests identifying as female, with access to food, sleeping space, and basic hygiene supplies. The shelter operates overnight and pivots to 24-hour operation during severe-weather emergencies. NOTE: the Salvation Army is an evangelical Christian organization and the shelter is female-only; some trans community members may have safety or affirmation concerns, review before publishing.
