Founded in 2004, Abby's Closet hosts an annual free Prom Dress Giveaway where high school students can choose a formal dress at no cost, with thousands of dresses available each spring. It has served students from hundreds of schools across Oregon and Southwest Washington with the aim of reducing the financial barrier to participating in formal events. Students engage by attending the giveaway events; the organization also accepts dress donations and volunteers.
